"Airports of Regions" – is the leading airport holding in Russia whese strategic investor is the Renova Group. Today the holding consists of the following airports: "The International Airport Koltsovo" (Yekaterinburg), "The international airport Kurumoch" (Samara), "The international Airport Nizhny Novgorod" (Strigino) and "Rostov-on-Don Airport". Also, "Airports of Regions" are implementing construction projects of the new airports Platov (Rostov-on-Don) and Central (Saratov).
The terminal of absolutely new, constructed from scratch International airport "Kurumoch"(Samara) was put in operation at the end of 2014. The first thing that is seen by the passengers who passed security check in Kurumoch - is a huge, bright, fascinating media facade, of 550 square meters, installed on the second floor in departure lounge. The length of the LED screen is more than 90 meters - the height is about 6 meters. The screen is bent in a curved way, accenting boldness and innovation of futuristic interior of the terminal. At the beginning of 2014 Tengo was entrusted to create special video content for this unique screen. Having started this unusual task we prepared several concepts, but soon came to a conclusion that none of us can imagine how our ideas will look like on such non-standard in form and size screen. Technologies on the basis of modern game engines came to the rescue. We optimized the 3D - model of the departure lounges in new Kurumoch received from Architects and then we programmed our own shader for the screen which allowed to load and bring dynamically to a virtual media facade any video and even imitate physical aspects of a real video cloth, such as, partial transparency of LED assemblies, LED modules pixel step, luminosity and contrast characteristic of such LED screens. So, we did everything to receive the picture, closest to reality. It was possible to walk freely in the hall of virtual Kurumoch and see how the screen and the video content looks from different spots of the lounge. On this product we successfully tested all video design concepts and even made their presentation for the client.
